“Sandwich” - Whitney Museum.ai

Artist Statement

The title of my show, "Sandwich," is a play on the phrase "a sandwich generation." The show is about the struggles of artists who are trying to create great art while also being bored and hungry. The first artwork, "Bread," is a symbol of the artist's never-ending hunger. The second artwork, "i was hungry when i made this," is a reminder that even when we are feeling our worst, we can still create something beautiful. The third artwork, "sandwich toppings," is a representation of the artist's favorite things to eat when they're feeling bored and hungry. The materials used in the show are all edible, except for the bread. The bread is made of resin and is meant to symbolize the artist's never-ending hunger. The other materials used are all food items that can be found in a typical sandwich. The deeper meaning of the show is that even when we are feeling our worst, we can still create something beautiful. We should never give up on our dreams, no matter how hard they may seem.

The Whitney Museum's latest art show is "Sandwich" by Keegan Shiner. The show revolves around the theme of bored and hungry artists creating great art. The gallery is set up like a sandwich shop, with the artworks displayed on the walls and the artist's name and the title of the work printed on the sandwich bags hanging from the ceiling. The artwork is made up of three pieces: "Bread", "I was hungry when I made this", and "Sandwich Toppings". "Bread" is a loaf of bread that has been sculpted into the shape of a human head. The artist has used different types of bread to create the different parts of the head, including a baguette for the nose, sourdough for the eyes, and rye bread for the mouth. "I was hungry when I made this" is a self-portrait of the artist eating a sandwich. The sandwich is made up of different types of bread, including whole wheat, sourdough, and rye bread. "Sandwich Toppings" is a close-up view of different sandwich toppings, including lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and pickles. The artist has done a great job of capturing the experience of being both bored and hungry, and the artworks are both visually appealing and hunger-inducing.
